Trios BioCrop is an excellent cover crop for building productivity and profitability, and protecting soil, air, and water resources. Plant and manage Trios cover crop triticale as you would wheat, while taking advantage of its superior soil cover, disease tolerance, wide adaptability, and biomass production.

During the winter months, Trios cover crop triticale is a low growing, high tillering plant that develops a strong root system. This unique growth habit has important advantages compared to other cover crops.

For orchards and vineyards:

  • Less top growth through early spring, more below-ground biomass
  • Better orchard and vineyard access
  • Less risk of frost damage

For all cover crop needs:

  • Promotes good drainage
  • Controls erosion
  • Terminated before heading, surface residue handles easily, requiring less discing.
Trios triticale remains low growing in the fall and winter. With the arrival of the longer, warmer days of spring, the plant begins its upward growth. Allowed to grow on to maturity in the late spring, Trios triticale develops far more above-ground biomass than wheat.

The results of root tube studies show the sizable advantages of Trios products compared to standard cover crops.
